Advice for fully working phone

Hi,

Can somebody advice me what phone to buy that works 100% with the RRS, so with full phonebook transfer over bluetooth?

I prefer Nokia if possible, so the best Nokia out there with full compatibility, and preferably that you have seen working, not just in the list.

My Nokia 6680 is fully compatible in the list but won't transfer the phonebook or last calls, my HTC won't work at all.

Thanks, Thumbs Up 08.5 RRS TDV6 HSE Java Black/Alpaga - Cold Climate Pack - Privacy Glass - Bluetooth - Sunroof - 20" wheels - Rubber Floor mats.

Phantom, with MY2008.5 any phone listed on the Land Rover website should work - don't forget that before you do anything you have to pair them using the code 2121, and ensure that your phone's contact list is saved to the phone as the LR system appears not to be able to read simcards like other systems such as Parrot. When I took delivery of the TDv8 the dealer had a member of staff who's job was basically the in-car technology man and he spent more than an hour with me going through the nav system, mobile phone setting-up and using and audio. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

My dealer didn't have time for all that Sad

I did pair the phone using the 2121 code but the phonebook or the last dialed numbers don't seem to come through.

The Nokia 6680 I have has the correct firmware as listed in the LR docs, and the docs states "Fully Compatible".

All my contacts are on the phone, but some have multiple numbers and extra info like adress, email, etc...

Is there anything I should check or I could do to get it working? 08.5 RRS TDV6 HSE Java Black/Alpaga - Cold Climate Pack - Privacy Glass - Bluetooth - Sunroof - 20" wheels - Rubber Floor mats.

I've just bought a Nokia 6500 classic which is not on the list and it works with the phonebook etc.

Occasionally I get "no service" come up on the display as though its not connecting properly. But it clears and sorts its self after a few minutes. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

Maybe Land rover should steal a page from Volvo - if you specify their PTI, it is an integrated phone built into the dash, all you need to do is put your simcard into the slot! Tim,

But can you get two sims on the same account? I didn't think you could get that anymore Confused you have to have two numbers and divert your main number to the car everytime you get in the car - I may be completely wrong on this though

You can get dual Sims but each time you want to change which sim is active you have to dial a code. A bit of a pain. FYI a Blackberry 8100 workks fully with the latest PTI software. One note is that if you have multiple numbers on a contact only the first number listed will work via the car controls. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I thought the "no service" message meant "no signal" i.e. your phone has lost connection to the phone network? Also, isn't only Vodafone that offer dual SIMs in the UK?

Well Santa was reasonably nice to me this year, and so was Telefonica... well not actually true... I brought myself a new phone and Telefonica gave me another of my choice... which I paid for in the long run due to high bills making high points !! So I ended up with the LG Prada and Nokia Prism (7500)

Anyway... back to the question... Nokia 7500 worked instantly with full phone book, missed calls, call register etc.. all via bluetooth, the LG Prada took me a little working out as to not have the numbers in the phone book stored on the Sim but on the Phone and then that worked fully as well. Steering wheel controls of phone book via Bluetooth is pretty good.

So both phones working as they should in the RRS which made me happy to say the least after trying with a number of other previously and giving up on the fact that it wouldnt work without the docking connection.

My faith in Land Rover was recharged a litte, I was actually pleasantly suprised.
