New joiner !

Hi everyone,

Just joined this forum as I have placed my order for a RRS TDV8 HSE hoping to get delivery in late September !!

Is there any info which could help me understand a bit more of what to look out for when taking delivery of my RRS ? Tips and things to watch out for.. I am also getting it tinted and have been recommended by the dealer to get the paint wax protected (obviously at extra cost) ..

I am looking forward to engaging in this forum !! Very Happy

Welcome Sun - (Have you got your hat on?)

Nice car the TDV8 - reading through this site you will see various problems that crop up. LR seem to have sorted out their paint problems but the most complained one now is the knocking coming from the front suspension. Take time to read all threads about this and warn your dealer that if this occurs you will reject your car straight away.

Your dealer will be charging you a premium for the extras stated - you will save yourself a few hundred £ by getting these things done after delivery by a third party - who no doubt does the work for LR anyway.

What part of London are you in? I might be able to point you in the direction of some help.

When you pick up the car it really is a simple visual inspectection of paint & interior - only when you drive it will anything else be obvious. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Sun - one more thing - the tints are best when you go for the factory option, after tints are no way near as good. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Thanks guys !

I am in the Edgware/Stanmore area.

I was recommended that I do the Tints at 30% smokey on all the windows, which will ensure that I am within some kind of legal allowance for tinting.

Thanks

Sun - there is a legal requirement re tints as you state but if at all possible get the factory fitted tints they are so much better. If you've already placed the order so be it but Kam100 on this site can source cars quickly and get good discounts too. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

If you search the gallery on this forum, you will be able to see pics of both factory fitted and aftermarket tints. The reason the factory tints are so much better is that they fit tinted glass, rather than a film that gets applied onto non-tinted glass - the difference is very marked. If your delivery is due at the end of Sept you should still be able to change the order spec (if you were having yours was a factory order as opposed to coming out of stock).
