Suspension Knocking! A Fix.

The following has been submitted by member Voice of Reason - A big thank you.

The whole thread that lead to this reply can be found HERE!

Hi

I'm back for one more post

This issue has now been identified on customers vehicles via the EPQR system and customers vehicles have been inspected by LR engineering.

The result is that LR do now acknowledge that some vehicles can exhibit excessive ARC noise and have produced a fix which has been tried on several vehicles and proven to fix the issue in every case so far.

You will need to visit your local dealer whom by now should have "DVD 105 patch file 3" installed on their diagnostic systems, the new software contains a full update to the DSC system and now incorporates the addition of the vehicles steering angle sensor to the ARC system control sub system.

in rare cases the working of the system prior to this update may mean that the arc system bushes as mentioned below may have some additional wear and replacement of these will remove any remaining excess system noise.

All customers whom have had this update and in some cases the bushes have since reported total happiness with noise levels.

It is also worth noting that those of you that have had the bushes already should seek this update immediately as it is likely the issue will return as your replacement bushes bed in.

Hi all nice forum i'm glad i found it thank you .
ok here is my story i have purchase a RRover sport (TDV8 07 MARCH PLATE) and i have noticed the Suspension Knocking so i taken the car back to Guy Salmon in north where i got it from, they then told me that they have found nothing then i was realy apset because that knoking is realy drive me crasy ,after one month i call them again and they told me to take to a local Guy Salmon dealer, so that's what i done then i print the informaction from the forum (Part number RVU50011 DVD 105 patch file 3 and Part number RVU50011) so they then call me and told me that my car had allready the RVU50011 DVD 105 and the Part number RVU50011 because my car wa quite new but they have admit they they noticed the Suspension Knocking but he also told me that they also tried 3 other RRover sport and they all also have the same problem Shocked and they called Land Rover for their openion and and he told that Land Rover told him if my car has Suspension Knocking and so their other 3 RROVER SPORTS TDV8 that at this stage they cant help Crying or Very sad

Draving a £56k car with this Suspension Knocking is realy sick and i realy mean it sick specialy that Land Rover cant' do anything.

i have noticed that same RR owners in this forum have resolve this problem with RVU50011 DVD 105 patch file 3 and Part number RVU50011 and why land Rover Guy Salmon cant do it to mine.

this is realy sad mate.

i have made the Guy Salmon service manager give a full report in writting that they did found a Suspension Knocking and Land Rover refused to deal with it.

so now i will take them to court and if i can i will contact TOP GEAR so they can put it on tv so the all UK can see how LAND ROVER are a b....of ff are sick people.

about 3 weeks ago i read a magazine about cars and they rate all uk car manafactures from 1 to 10 on the custmer service and i didn't came as a surprise as LAND ROVER was at the bottom Razz

see you all i'm goind for a drive with my RR but i will drive it no more then 10 MPH so i don't get sick Evil or Very Mad

Thanks to Doc's fix, ie the part numbers for the parts required to sort out the problem plus the dealer also fitted a new antiroll bar, the new car has exactly the same knock so it will go back to the same dealer to get it sorted, and i wont accept it cant be sorted Thumbs Up RRS TDV6 sold RRS, TDV8 nearly sold, Ferrari 355 sold, Cobra sold,

Just got mine back from the Dealer.

All good now. The knocking was subtle, but enough to annoy. Had this forum not existed, I would have lived with it.
