Off to France tomorrow....headlight question

Hi,

Anyone know how to flip them to Frenchy mode?

Anything else I should do (other than drive on the wrong side of the road)

thanks

You have to remove the grill, 4 clips along the top undo them, hold the grill top and bottom and give a good tug to get it off. Then look at the headlights, there are two tabs at the back of the headlight units that have to be lifted to release the headlamps, let the units come towards you and then unscrew the cap on the back looking inside the headlamp unit you should see a lever at the side of the bulb unit move it and then re-assemble everything and thats it, takes less than 5 minutes, Thumbs Up
It does explain in the handbook with pictures too but mine is 1000 miles away from me just now so I cant point you at the right page. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

remove the grille?!? that seems a long winded way to go about it. Why dont they just have a switch inside to flick. Think I'll leave them and dazzle the frenchies.....only going for the weekend!

Cheers anyway Alicatt

You can flip the levers on the back of the headlamp units without removing the grille and the headlamp as described in the owners handbook. It's a bit fiddlie but it can be done. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

I did this when driving across Europe. It is really easy.

Only advice would be to make sure you unplug the light units - BIG electric shock risk otherwise! Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

As said before it is possible to flick the lever without removing grill or headlight. I've got lamp guards so seemed a big pain in the hoop to strip the front of the car off everytime I head to and from the continent.

Must admit I showed the missus the owners manual and pointed her in the right direction and let her slender fingers do a better job than what my fat sausages could do!

It is a fiddle, but managed to do it in the time from docking at the ferry port and driving off the ramp... or of course you could not bother and dazzle them Frenchies and make them sit up and pay attention to how to make a proper car!
