Wing mirror dipping in reverse

Sorry if I am asking a dumb question (I seem to do that a lot these days......must be my age!)

I have tried to set up the wing mirrors to dip when I put the car into reverse - my D3 had the same setting and the mirrors dropped when reverse was selected.

I choose the setting in the menu, and to test it I put it in reverse. Nothing.

OK ... So I put it in reverse and manually set one of the mirrors then put it back into Drive - nothing. When I put it back into reverse it stayed the same again.

Do I assume that you need the Memory Pack (which I now dont have) to get the mirrors to dip or should they just do it?

Thanks

MX the RRS SE doesn't have reverse dipping mirrors sorry to say. Didn't have them on my SE but find the nearside one great for attempting to avoid kerbed wheels (unsuccessfully admittedly) on the HSE! The D3 SE has lots of toys that the RRS SE doesn't get Big Cry Big Cry 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

IIRC the owners manual states you only get the dipping wing mirrors when reversing in combination with the memory seats.

I too was confused as to why it is on the menu if not on the car! I guess the assumption is that the memory unit for the seat also memorises the dip position of the mirror?!

Ive not had a chance to consult the manual. How do i temporarily disable the dipping? ie i find it cool for most parking situations. Although sometimes i just need ot reverse and have no need to see the floor. Is there like one of the switches or buttons i press which brings them back up while still in reverse?

I find the dipping on the nearside very useful but on the driver's side it's a pain, I would rather see what I am about to hit than the road surface! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

You can set them independently to dip as much or as less as you want. Just store the settings while you are in reverse and after you have adjusted them how you want. TDV6, MYO7 Java with Ivory leather, 19 inch wheels
