Audi RS5

"Hi Kamran,

Please accept this email as confirmation that you will be our second customer to receive the new RS5 and we are so far estimating that delivery will take place late 2008, though we are still waiting for details to be confirmed by Audi. As soon as I know more I will happily update you.

Best Regards,
Ian"

Key specs:
- 4.2L Twin Turbo V8 putting out 450 horsepower and AT LEAST 500 ft/lbs of TQ
- front axle moved up 120 mm to allow the engine to be mounted further back thus reducing the horrible oversteer it had.
- 55:45 front-rear weight balance
- rear-biased Quattro system
- modified magnetic ride dampers lifted off of the TT
- carbon ceramic brakes lifted off the R8

Only rumored performance times are the 0-60 which is rated at "sub 4.5 seconds"

I've given IAn some strong words over it.. i left a message with him for a Q7 last week too, and his receptionist didn't deliver the message, so i made a point of buying the car from a rival dealership, that day too! so the point was pushed home.. I think the receptionist will be getting a sever rollocking over it.. as thats car no. 2 they have lost in 2 weeks, thats over £100k worth of sale technically...

We have 2 deposits down with him, and another on the way, so im going to see what they can do about a group discount or gesture off the top of each one. We got £500 off both RS4's when we ordered them together in 06, so hopefully they will do something off these too, and luckily you'rs is within the same group too, so we can batch the orders together and push them for something..

Will keep you updated..

no probs to me - AUDI Shrewsbury were more than happy to take the order. I'm popping over tomorrow to sign the order - they told me mine will be the first RS5 at that dealership (although its the third order they have taken) as the others wont come via that dealership

Wifey cant believe I've order a car I wont see for 18 months

haha.. i know what you mean. I ordered the M3 in Oct 2004, so thats 3 years prior, now thats crazy..
If i get shuved down the list or get mine delayed, watch how much noise i make!! Crying or Very sad

When we got the RS4's we only had a 5 month wait.. so ordering the RS5's this early, is a bit premature, but a £500 deposit for guaranteed early car is a good thing, think of how much you'll save if you can get one, have some fun for 6 months and sell it on without losing a shed load? lets see what happens..
