South Africa 2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Chawton White
SATNAV and POI

Anyone knows if this will work with the RRS system: http://www.pimp-my-nav.com/index.htm (It is an application used to make a copy of the original NAV DVD, adding custom POI (like safety cameras) at the same time.) I suppose the question is actually, does the RRS use the same navigation computer as the FFRR? If not, anyone know of a similar application we can use with the RRS? I have always thought the ability (or actually lack thereof) to add custom POI is the biggest disadvantage of the built in navigation systems. 2010 Sport Supercharged with all options apart from TV and Extended leather (wish I had the latter) (Previously 2007 RRS S/C)

Interesting. Will be curious to see if that will work with RRS Navi, but I fear not.

That won't work. The Denso satnav in use on RRS, 2005+ FFRR and Disco/LR3s is a whole different animal than the one fitted on earlier MY Range Rovers, which used a BMW based satnav shared with most BMWs and Mini. That system was far more "hackable". The new one uses a cryptic file format, making it virtually impossible to crack / modify.

The BMW Nav system is based upon a clear directory structure and uncompressed HTML and text files.

The LR system is based on the KIWI format. Technically it should be able to decode the files as the specifications are available online but, as far as I'm aware, no-one has managed to do it successfully Sad Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

Someone did once say on here, that they would be putting some of their finest minds onto it... and they no doubt ran into the same problems Whistle
