Ok VA

As you still do not have an answer on your question what to do

I have also some outbuildings, we call it the cabin (that is where my boys hang-out)

So i originally had two internet connections, but i have changed that for this one

They are wall plugged range extenders

http://www.netgear.co.uk/wallplugged_adapterkit_hdxb101.php

performance is up to 200mbps so much better then wireless

bassically you are using you'r powerlines as a network cable, at one end you upload the network signal and at the other end you take it off, you can take it into a switch or back into wireless, installation takes about 5 minutes and its more simpler then running cables, as you have to terminate cables Twisted Evil

just have a look Razz

OK, must have overlooked that part Embarassed

Other solution is to get a second broadband connection, (which is ofcourse more expensive) Big Cry

your solution is more in the directional antenna like this

http://www.netgear.co.uk/extra/b_wirelessantenna_ant24d18.php

this provide you point to point wireless connection between buildings

Second broadband means two routers, means two address ranges, means limited roaming between house and outbuilding without service interruption.... Big Cry

The tel line that runs to 'the barn' has adsl on it but the router is in the house and the wireless signal doesn't reach 'The Barn'. Can I attach another router on this line? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
