Drove up to Winterberg with the family today for a bit of sledging and general arseing around. From where we live it's more or less straight up sweeping mountain roads for about 1 hour. This is where the TDV8 comes into its own. After each bend or curve it was great to plant my foot and see everything disappear behind me, XC90, X5, ML and the usual small stuff. There is nothing better than being able to see 1km in front of you uphill. No snow untill we got right to the top and none of that was on the main roads, managed to get on some white stuff and used the first snow/gravel programme. I must admit, before hand I had wondered how the cars systems would cope with controling the V8. That was quickly answered as soon as I switched into Snow/gravel the power delivery is completley different, just as well!, the power is tapped and fed in to maintain maximum traction, coupled with the scorpian P zero's it is pure genius. Its as if the car is saying "Snow, what snow" However i did turn the programe off and gave it some gas just to see the faces of the people in the cheap seats. Anyway a great run up to Winterburg lots of fun had by all, mainly me!

Just got back from a skiing holiday in Bavaria. Lots and lots of snow! And lots of fun.
My TDV8 was not found wanting. Just switch on the snow/gravel programme and wave to all ze local germans as they get left in your wake!
As the locals are all used to X5's and ML's in the 4x4 stakes, we got some right stares sat in our RRS.
I was going to invest in some winter tyres, but as Steve says, the Scorpion P Zeros are superb.
By the way Steve, is your surname an alcoholic beverage? Thrash it...... to within an inch of its life!
