Phone connection

More questions!!!
What is the purpose of the phone interface under the cubby box lid on a 2008 MY RRS HSE?
As the vehicle has built in bluetooth why would you need it?
AmI missing something here?
My dealer says adapters are available for various phones, but he could not give any further info on this at the time. My phone is the Orange SPV M3100.
Is there an adapter available for it?

Until recently LR had very few phones on the BT pairing set up, the interface in the cubby box worked for some but as time moves on LR will make more and more phones work with the BT and so the cradle will become old technology. I think there were only 4 or so cradles mostly fitting Nokia's. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

And on MY08.5 they've now removed the interface so it's BT only from now on.

Plus LR now offer [ at cost ] the ability to update older versions of the bluetooth PTI to the latest specification - thus giving you the ability to pair over bluetooth and gain full access to your phonebook

Yep... for new orders, you'd be looking at speccing the USB interface and then charge it out of there, whilst connected to the car via BT.

TDV8 and Orange 3100

Hi Tony 2

I gave up trying to pair my 3100 with my TDV8 and had a Parrot fitted

If you get yours to work and it recognises your phone book do let me know

TurboD, are the contacts in your phone saved to the phone or to the sim card? If they are saved to the sim card then you will have to save them to the phone for the phone book to work on the 2008MY Tdv8. I had this problem with both my V3i and a new Blackberry Pearl - on looking at why only 5 out 50 contacts were copied to the car I found that I had saved all the other numbers to the sim card and not the phone. I had a Parrot in my last RRS as it didn't have the BT, the Parrot is soooooo much easier to use than the LR system, but now I have the system sussed out I won't be going out to buy a Parrot! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks for the replies fella's.
I have now stored all my contacts to the phone memory and bingo, phone book is available through the PTI.
Now, if I crack the final problem I will be a happy chappie.
Get into car, ignition on, phone connects, all is well. Thumbs Up
Stop to refuel or whatever, get back into car, ignition on, "No phone fitted" aaarrrggghhhhh!!!!!!!! Big Cry
The phone will only reconnect if I am away from the car for a long period of time.
Has anyone else experienced this annoying Land Rover feature?

It won't be the car, it will be the mobile.

I've used 4 or 5 different Nokia's and they all have worked perfectly.

Perhaps there is a setting in the BT section of your mobile? TDV8 HSE in Java/Ebony with Zebrano Wood, RSE, Hybrid TV, and a few other bells and whistles.

Thanks Landstormer.
Can you tell me what are the model numbers of the Nokia phones that work fully with the RRS?

I think I will purchase one off Ebay and sell my Orange SPV M3100. Enjoying life and spending the kids inheritence

England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Wow now you're testing me!!

I currently use a E65 but before that I've had the following in the Sport:

N72, 6230i, 6330, 6111.

The 6230i was the easiest to use, however the Sport's software needs updating on earlier vehicles for this model to work.

The 6111 did loose connection a couple of times, but nothing major.

The E65 is a good phone, looks nice however doesn't have many megawhatsit's for taking pictures! Whistle

What about an iPhone? Couple of posts tonight confirming it works by BT.

Good luck! TDV8 HSE in Java/Ebony with Zebrano Wood, RSE, Hybrid TV, and a few other bells and whistles.
