Brake Pads

Just a quick question , Has anyone changed their own brake pads ?

Had the warning ( annoying ) beep start yesterday so ill be checking to see what ones need changing ( Hmm with all this technology you would think it would tell you if its front or back Shocked ) anyhow im not going to get ripped off at the stealers so my questions are :

1. Where did you source the pads ? ( stealer or independent / ebay ? seen some for £25 a set on there )
2. Are they anygood ? ( squeeky or whatever ? )
3. How much ?
4. When are you free to do mine .... Whistle

Im sure its a simple job i know you have to change the sensor which im sure is a stealer job. Would like a good quality pad and no noise , dont know if OEM is the best choice tho Confused

Ive seen some posts relating to brakes on this forum but not a lot of info so hopefully you guys can help Bow down

Regards

Bill

It's not a big job but the dealers will charge you £300 - any garage can fit them for 1/2 the price. Get the pads and sensor from a dealer for about £80. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

Kwik Fit used to guarentee their pads for life. i.e. they'd change them forever till the vechicle changed owners. Maybe worth investigating.....

If you're going to do it, you could earn plenty of brownie points by taking photos along the way and writing up a bit of a how-to. Put that in the Tips and Tricks section, I'll sticky it for you and you'll be forever famous. Well, here in the forum you will be...

Ran out of time to do both sets but did manage to do the Brembo's with no problem in fact very easy i did take some pics so i will do a little write up soon although its really as simple as removing the pins in the caliper and taking out old pads but if people want to see it up close i will sort it out soon.
