Cherished Plate - should I or shouldn't I

Ok, I've now seen the light and have a RRS on order. What I can't decide is whether to fit my existing cherished plate - X5 SGW - (no prizes for guessing what led me to buy that plate a few years ago...) to the RRS or whether to go through the hassle of selling it & buying a new one a little more suitable for the RRS.

Would it give the impression of a more enlightened 4x4 owner or just a Censored who was too tight to buy a new plate!?!

[polite] thoughts welcomed!

Fairly resounding answer so far! I obviously will have to dig deeper into my pocket or should I say my "fuel fund". Don't suppose anyone knows someone with an X5 and the initials SGW!?!

From DVLA

V1 SGW = £999

Looks like roman numeral for 6

Or

V11 SGW at only £399

Of course there is also X1 and X11 etc

Yep, you have seen the light just like i have last week. Picked mine up and transfrered my number plate onto the new one. Dont get boged down by the BMW Sh***. Get a number plate with your initials, not the car then you can transfer it

Totally agree. Looks much more classy too!

I've only got 2 initials and next DVLA auction reserve prices for suitable plates are £2k!

Not sure what to do... get them now or wait 'til I may be rich and infamous? Most of us are reptiles... only the enlightened few become human beings.

You could go for one that means nothing at all.......................... then all the neighbours start wondering if you've flipped your lid.
My RRS has P13 MUD plate on it and my Defender has P12 MUD, a few years back when I had P13 on a FFRR one of the money grabbers at the tolls on the Erskine Bridge told me that I must have had really cruel parents to have given me a set of initials that made up the word MUD............................................ the plates that I have also only cost £280 a piece from the DVLA as they are the old style ones and they are still available as are MUC and MUK plates. I think RR54 MUK and RR54 MUC are still available for about £600 each from the DVLA . 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
