what do FFRR drivers really think about the RRS

On Sunday a family turned up to take out one of my boats for the day, and they were in a FFRR, one of my guys while showing the family around the boat commented on me having a RRS and the customer said that he had looked at buying one but found them tacky Shocked (much to the amusement of my staff Evil or Very Mad )

To add insult to injury he parked his FFRR right out side of my office window blocking out the light Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad which i had to sit and look at all bloody day

Upon his return later that day, and he was late back, i quizzed him about his comments and it turned out he had had the same demo car as me and from the same dealer, he had enjoyed the V8 and the cars driving capabilities but thought that the interior was like a Ford parts bin and the seats were more akin to a Mondeo Shocked I did agree with him on the quality but then pointed out that out he was more of a pipe and slippers man than me so he was better off in a FFRR Whistle

There is a moral to this tale. Don't bring my boats back late or you will lose your deposit which he did Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

So do all FFRR drivers think that the RRS is a tacky looking Ford parts bin?????? some of my Previous cars

Tacky? Hardly.... OK, it's not a FFRR inside, but I think it's far from "Ford parts bin". Jesus, it's not an Aston... Whistle

The RRS does not cost as much as the FFRR either. Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

Having run a FFRR for 2 years, I have to say that the seats in the RRS are actually as comfortable as the thrones in the FF but at least you don't feel like a bloody budgie on a perch in the RRS like you do in a FF. The seats in the FF are vast thrones, but very flat and nowhere near as cosetting as the RRS's. The thing that I really miss from my FF that the Sport doesn't have are all the cubbies in the boot sides - there are removable panels that give access to 2 vast storage spaces on each side so things like tyre pumps and all the small bits of junk that you carry round are all out of sight and don't roll around. The RRS just cannot compete with the FF on that front. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Most my friends who have FFRR wouldn't have RRS as it is seen as a come down (its a D3 in a nice dress) and no split tail gate.

Different cars for different markets.

BUT Censored switch gear etc Censored me right off

A few examples follow...

Door mirror switch - from a '90 ford granada

Light switch from a ford transit van (you think I'm joking - go look in one!)

Electric seat switches from a Volvo

Seats from a volvo

What the f11ck were they thinking when they put in a tailgate with an opening window? Does anyone here use this item? Split 'gate next time please!

And the list goes on - I take these thinks apart on a regular basis and theres FORD VOLVO and JAG EVERYWHERE!

Still love 'em though Thumbs Up
