2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Zermatt Silver
Everyine who had SOFTWHEELS 20'S please read, I need HELP!

Hello guys, as you know there was a noticeable problem with the stormer 20's !
Land Rover finally listened to my emails and they need me to get a group of people who have had problems with SOFTWHEELS, remember the wheels that the paint was soft to soft scrubs and dented easier than normal.
If you could please help me guys it was pretty bad to have bent wheels and scratched within 4 weeks of new.
So if anyone of you had a Factory echange, any warranty done regarding this area I am working with Land ROver LAtin America and Land Rover UK to work something out for 14 people who have had similar problems in my country. Stormers are standard on our RrSports, so there are so many case we have only located early 2006 models on this problem.
I thank you guys for any help you can provide, any help is biG HELP!
Thanks a lot!

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Stornoway Grey

Your problem is not unique, there is a post that I started detailing my dealings with Landrover UK. I complained that my wheels had become damaged off road and they did replace them with a new set, but guess what, as soon as I went off road again I had another set of ruined wheels. They did not agree to a second replacement set.

I always felt the 20" alloys on the sport were very vulnerable to damage, MDP sent me photos of his wheels that were also scratched, he'd never taken his off road and had never kerbed it, the wheels just seemed really soft and easy to scratch.

I now have a full fat Range Rover sitting on the standard 18" alloys and I am NOT going to swap them out for bigger wheels, even if they do look much better. I now have big fat tyres that will take the brubt of any off roading.

If it helps, I printed out the thread that I started where people had also said their wheels were damaged and sent this to Landrover with a cover letter, photos etc. Hope this helps.

read this thread for further information on what I did:

My Stormers were badly pitted from brake dust after only a few thousand miles, even though they are cleaned rigorously (with non-acidic P21s by the way) every week. The local garage cleaned them with some phosphoric acid cleaner ( Evil or Very Mad ) before they sent photos to LR. LR have done nothing.

Norway

The "plastic" on one of my stormers has started to peel off.
It seems they have " dipped" the rims in a liquid plastic. Mad
I will poste a picture of it!

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged HSE Zermatt Silver

I just got a reply from Land Rover....

Dear Mr McCarthy,

Thank you for your email below, firstly please accept my apologies for the delay in sending out you service confirmation letter, I can confirm this will be posted later today.

With regards to the damage caused to the alloy wheel whilst driving off - road, we do list a caution in the hand book stating: Lower profile tyres may be more susceptible to damage caused by hazards in the road and even more so from hazards found in off-road conditions, care should be taken to avoid such hazards when operating the vehicle.

Whilst I can appreciate this information may be displeasing, I hope that you will understand land Rovers position in this matter.

regards

Richard Farrell

So apparrently, the damage to my Alloy Wheels is not listed - tyres are! the reply does not make sense. I have sent back an email stating that there is NO damage to the tyres at all.... just the wheels Evil or Very Mad GONE** RRS 3.0SC Silver fully loaded Smile - 2020 110 loving it
