RRS 4.4 AB collected today

Having searched for many months I’ve picked my new RRS today….
Had a 2014 HSE bought privately for a very brief period 3 years ago and sold within two weeks as didn’t enjoy the ride and went back to another Jag XF.
Tested a number of RRS recently and found the later 2017, 2018 models much improved so purchased the one collected today.
It’s a 2018 facelift autobiography in special palette svo balmoral blue and looks stunning in the sunlight.
Wanted Loire but this is similar but much more metallic.

Was initially looking for the 3.0 diesel as I’ve had them in 3 XF’s ….a superb engine in my view and never an issue.
I almost dismissed this one as it has the 4.4 which I didn’t think I needed.

Having driven it home today however I think I may have stumbled across something quite special as it drives beautifully and sounds fantastic.

So far I’m pleased to give these special vehicles another go.

Looks really nice. Great colour.
It's amazing how many of us ex XF owners are coming across to the RRS. Almost the opposite sort of vehicle, yet oddly familiar.
Never drove an early one so couldn't comment on the ride. Mine rides very well but what really surprised me with the 494 is the way it corners. I expected some wallow after 13 years with my XF-S but if anything it seems to corner even better. 4wd probably has something to do with it.
I also agree, the V6 was a brilliant engine. Loved mine. Perhaps a little more stressed in the RRS but I can't help thinking the crank failure reputation has a lot to do with poor maintenance.
I was scared of the V8 running costs so ended up with the new IL6 (another brilliant engine) but I'm not too proud to say I'm a little bit green. I'd love a V8, if just for the noise!! 2021 L494 D300MHEV Autobiography
