rrs electrical issues

Hi, just purchased a 2010 RRS with a few issues. Strange 1 is the infotainment system is dead, the buttons on the drivers door are dead, the window button on the offside rear door is dead and the doors do not lock but the alarm does set.

Both front and rear nearside windows work from their switches. Any good ideas where to start testing would be much appreciated.

I would have a look at the wiring in the drivers door hinge area.
Probably a broken thick wire.

If there are lumps in the wire this could be a break

Checked that cable as best I could and seemed fine. Checked all fuses relays etc and then disconnected battery for about an hour. When reconnected the central display and radio came to life but central locking, wing mirrors adjusters and driver door switch panel still not working. after a few short drivers the central display stopped working again so trying a hard reset again but touching nothing else to see what this does.

Does the indicator on the door outside flash correctly?
And does it continue to work when door opened and closed

You were right. I did notice that the near side rear door does try to lock. It is the only door where the catch by the handle moves.

OK, took the drivers door card off and there is no power there at all. Assume this is the same with the offside rear door. Where do both doors get power?

While looking into the dead radio, touch screen etc. I discovered there is no power going to fuse 68 so no power coming out! All other fuses do appear to have power. Any idea where fuse 68 gets its power?

Radio - That fuse 68 is only powered when the radio is taken out of standby (by the 'headunit')

Drivers door is powered from fuse 32
rear right door powered from fuse 44

Thanks for you reply. Both those fuses are alive and well. Think I need to try to trace the wiring harness to see where the power stops. Need to find out how power gets from these fuses to the doors so I can check connections.

Well the obvious point is the door connector in the hinge area
See if there is power there.

Finally had the chance to disconnect the door from the a pillar. There is no power getting to the a pillar. Now need to trace this wire back. Any thoughts on this?
