L320 2.7 TDV6 engine won't start EPB fault.

Hi. I've rebuilt my L320 engine after oil pump tensioner snapped off. Engine turns over but won't start. Tries to start with spraying brake cleaner into air intake.
Only fault on code reader that won't clear is U0128-87 lost communicaton with parking brake control module. This shows on one item (possibly the ECM module). After cranking and rescanning the fault U0128-87 then shows up against lots of modules. ECM, TCM, IPC, RLM, TCCM, VDM. Is the lack of communication with the EPB stopping the engine starting? I've checked the connection on the parking brake unit Just in front of the spare wheel several times and all seems plugged in okay. Not sure where else the wiring plugs in for this unit. (The fuel gauge has also stopped working. I'm pretty sure this was working originally after rebuilt but not 100% sure).
The only other fault on code reader is a HVAC fault code which I assume is because it's not been re-gassed after putting body back on. I can't see that being reason for not starting.
