Hi all.

I have a really annoying rattle that has shown up in the cabin, that comes and goes with no real catalyst that I can pinpoint that would start it off or cause it to stop and wondered if any one else has had the same issue and know what the cure is.

It is a metallic type of rattle that comes on and it doesn't matter if the car is hot or cold both interior/engine wise or externally, hot day of cold day or how far it has been driven.

Some of the people who have been in the back have said it sounds as if it is coming from the pan roof cross member that sits under the roof but the car has been back to the dealer twice now and on both occasions have failed to be able to hear it!

They have a theory that the pan roof is out of alignment but the roof opens and closes faultlessly every time, no noise no fuss, just does as it is supposed to so a bit concerned that if they start dropping the headlining and taking the roof out I am going to end up with more issues than I started with.

Any ideas, thoughts, fixes or experience of this would appreciated. 2023 D350 FIRST EDITION, SANTORINI WITH CLOUD/EBONY

We had a similar type rattle in my wife’s new Evoque. The dealer eventually took the headliner and pano roof out. Didn’t fix the rattle and made everything else a whole lot worse with lots of squeaks after all pillar trims removed.

Eventually changed car for another new Evoque which is night and day.

Taking the whole roof out for a "we think this may be the issue" really concerns me in that I will probably end up with more issues than I started with, the roof works fine, no noise what so ever from it opening or closing.

Going to try another main dealer as the car is under warranty but will also get my local indie to assess it before hand to see if he can shed any light on it. 2023 D350 FIRST EDITION, SANTORINI WITH CLOUD/EBONY
