Hi all, apologies if this question should go in another category but I have the PITA error code about water in the fuel so have been trying to replace the entire housing with a new aftermarket one to no avail.

I've tried everything I can think of including dropping the transmission support cross member down a few inches to see if that would help. Short of taking the cross member out to see if it can slide out sideways or body off, I'm not having any luck.

Has anyone ever replaced it themselves or seen it done? If so, any pointers or suggestions for how it's done?

Hi all, just to close off this topic....i tried everything to fix the original fuel filter unit - checked everything with a multimeter and just couldn't work out what was wrong with it.

In the end i bit the bullet and did what everyone else suggested and just replaced the whole thing. Once you've tried a few times it's quite quick. There's barely any room to do it but some light bending got it out and to get the new one in i did what everyone else did and cut the useless corner off and it went it ok.

Fixed it totally - never seen that error again and we're a few months in now.
