online services

does anyone use this option? Can you tether your phone to the head unit on touch pro duo or do you need to get a separate data sim?

I don't think tethered internet access is an option (at least not mentioned in the handbook).

I use a sim in the car (prepaid sim) for the live traffic updates etc. 2021 P400e Autobiography

Hi,

I used a data sim in both my l494’s.

I used one from Amazon, 24months or 24Gb for about £35.

Never had any issues.

Thanks, I am on sky mobile which uses O2, so would something like this do? Unlimited?! https://www.amazon.co.uk/O2-Preloaded-UNLI...amp;sr=8-3

"Valid for 1 month" is the danger signal for me. I wouldn't want to pay £35 and have it not work after a month.

This is what I bought

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CX1VZH2S?psc...ct_details

"Expiry - 2027"

It says it's for business customers, but the seller doesn't seem to care about that. You just have to appreciate you'll get no customer support. But it's a SIM card, you just plug it in to the car - you get data. It's all pretty simple. 2021 P400e Autobiography

Many thanks for that, much appreciated. So the fact that it says 3 network on the pack isn't a problem? its only for data and not phone signal, so doesn't matter then?

Just another question sorry, when I plug it in to the console in the car will the online services just start working or do I need to create an account or log in somewhere? or does it just use your in control log on details?

thanks Spider pig, plugged the sim in and it works now, brilliant. The only thing that is weird is that the maps on the instrument panel in between the speedo and rev counter is still the old map and not the aerial view shot? not a deal breaker, but just wondering if you can change that too? In the new Land rovers I have been in, it shows on both as aerial shots?

No, it's just the navigation view you see in the driver display screen. I can't really see the satellite view being all that useful - it's difficult to see anything useful at a glance while you're driving.

Satellite view in the main display can be useful when you're parked up and looking for a particular location or your passenger can look. Trying to look at satellite maps while driving, for me at least, would be pretty distracting and hence dangerous. 2021 P400e Autobiography
