There's another security update campaign available following the N836 which was released last autumn.

As per the subject, this one's N888 Security Enhancement (Phase 4).

I've just had it done via Land Rover Assist. It was just under 1 hour from me phoning them up to the guy arriving on my drive. Once here it took him about 5 minutes. All far easier than going to the dealer.

Interesting - but I rang LRA this morning and their tech said they were not doing N888 at home so I had to book in at dealer (mid April).

Wonder if you guys have taken up all the slots!!

@bimjim you said he did the job in 5 mins? Dealer tech just told me N888 is minimum 45mins for install and needs both keys!!

That's odd. It really did only take a few minutes, and he just needed the one key (I double checked that).

Could it be a difference between MY23 and MY24? Or maybe they've changed the procedure since Friday, which would seem strange. 2023 P440e Dynamic SE

Mine was done on Saturday by Assist within 2 hours of calling, and did not need both keys, and took maybe 10 minutes. Truly the most simple JLR transaction ever !.

I got mine booked in for mid April and was advised that it would take approx 1 hour to complete.

That's probably what your stealer charges JLR to do it !

Update completed by LRA this morning in 10 mins.

Update requires the LRA guy to have good 3G/4G coverage as each download is separate I.e. it’s not stored on his laptop and can be used multiple times.

Only need one key to be able to turn on the ignition to establish comms with the car.

Nice gentleman had a look at SWMBO’s Defender and she had N874 Phase 3 and N888 Phase 4 outstanding, so he did her car as well during the same visit - wonderful chap.

JDPRRSUK - LRA guy says JLR want them to do the updates to ease pressure on dealers so you’ve been fed a duff buzz. I’d have a go at booking again.

Thanks @scrumps. Agree - sounds like I was fobbed off. Wife’s Evoque needs doing as well so may try again although I have a date booked in at dealer now.

LRA man said the allocated time is 0.2hrs, so that is all a dealer will be paid.

“An hour” (or part thereof) seems to be the standard unit of work at a dealer!
