| RRSTDV8 Member Since: 12 Aug 2011 Location: Northamptonshire Posts: 9159      | 255/50 on an 8x19 or 9x19 inch rim is full size so it's not a 50mph tyre. The 50mph tyres are something like 175/80 on a 5.5x19 rim. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

| RRSTDV8 Member Since: 12 Aug 2011 Location: Northamptonshire Posts: 9159      | It is strange. I had similar on my spare back in the day. Full size 19in rim with full size tyre. My tyre supplier explained that the speed limit is a requirement of the small section tyre and if you're running a normal tyre on a suitable rim.then the speed limit doesn't apply. Could have been done where the car was supplied with 20in rims but a 19in spare in order to reduce the risks associated with slightly different tyres.
