Whats going wrong with the range here P440e ?

Battery range is 50 miles at 100% which I started with this morning and it has ran out we have just over reserve in fuel which I assume is 30 - 50 miles in other cars when the light comes on which it hasn't yet so it should be closer to 50+ miles.

The petrol miles drop one mile per 10 seconds until its at zero then how long it lasts and which reading is right or wrong i don't know but it should have 15 litres plus from my photo as an estimate.

I've only put two full tanks of fuel in the car and covered over 5000 miles dealer says to just put in more fuel but this will not fix the issue and just mask it.

A fuel tank with just under half a tank should not show zero miles

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Lux Santorini Black

I might be confused but how do you know you have half a tank?

On that display I would be tempted to fill up asap and then charge!

It is rather odd, but the range is an estimate based on actual consumption which would be very poor when the engine fires up? 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Sorry meant to have said a quarter of a tank.

I've put in another 20lts today which has taken it to half a tank.

The fuel tank is 72 Litres I understand so that would be about right that with zero range but showing a quarter of a tank it had 10 - 15 Litres of fuel at a guess.

With half a tank of fuel its showing 130 petrol range now

Exporting my last 300 Journeys of data the MPG when using petrol is between 20 - 30 MPG so 130 miles on roughly 35 Litres doesn't add up to me.

I understand the fuel gauge is probably the correct one and the centre one is a computer making an educated guess based on some formula but its so far off reality as of what range is left in the car based on the fuel gauge.

I cant see any way of resetting this data so a trip to the dealer to diagnose might be on the cards.

Something ain’t right and needs resetting. Currently have a L461 as a courtesy car whilst our L405 is being fixed. First thing I noticed was the range was being calculated incorrectly. Our L405 has never had this issue so there must be something up with the way these cars calculate the range. Might need an update or something.
