Hi, I have a 2010 5.0 SC

I have 21" L494 wheels on it which I want to swap back to the 19" that came with it. I have 4 of the originals (including spare) but need a different spare to swap with my existing spare, that will fit over the brakes. Will this type in the attached image do?

I can't find a decent one of the matching type at the moment - My immaculate ebay purchase has just been "lost" by Parcelforce...

Your options for 19" rims that fit over the 6 pot brembo's on the S/C's is very limited, although there are a couple but not sure if that is one of them. This 19" Style 1 (LR017276) one was listed as a nco option for the 2010 S/C also designated as a off road wheel as well.

That is the style I have for the other four wheels which I know fit on the front over the brakes and is what the car was originally supplied with.

The ones available in that style are either stupidly expensive or cheaper but will need a refurb and so also expensive once that's done...

I had four singles lined up. Shame Parcelforce "lost" a really perfect one...So I'm one short for now. Might be a longer term project than I hoped...

It seems the VW fraternity like this style too...

Googleing the part number I quoted throws up a couple on ebay old new stock around £150/175 if it's any help.

You're right. I should have said that I already have one ratty one for the spare spot.

So if I can get a cheap enough spare that doesn't match (but does fit) I can refurb the ratty one, or get a decent one that matches and doesn't need refurb and then use the ratty one as the spare.

At the moment I have 4 matching 19" wheels. One definitely needs a refurb and one probably does if I'm being picky. But I have no right-sized 5th wheel for spare.

PO had bought 4 x 21" L494 wheels but left a 19" spare (which is actually in perfect condition) 2" different in diameter though....

I have one of these in the garage (actually, two but one has a spare, spare tyre on it). I can dig it out and see what condition it's in if you like. Depending on where you are in Gloucestershire, I might be able to do a COD for it.

Thanks. That's good of you. But don't go digging yet. I agreed an acceptable price on one of the NOS ones on ebay yesterday so I should be sorted now - assuming this one actually arrives 😁

So I finally got it all changed over today. And used /55 profile tyres like Discovery. Happy Bunny!

It is a nice improvement in ride and steering. New tyres of course (had nearly worn out Pirelli Scorpion Verde on the 21"). But goodness me those L494 21" wheels/tyres are heavy. I haven't put them on scales but they are noticeably difficult to lug around and certainly much heavier than the 19" Style 1 wheels and tyres.

So I have 1/2" more side wall and lighter wheels/tyres - all good

This is me stashing the old wheels this morning - soon to be on Ebay
