Insurance

Any good contacts for getting the new sport insured? A few places are not wanting to insure it which seems strange...

Thats who I used but for some reason they are refusing to quote the guy who I sold it to.
He's in his 40's and has a clean license, don't get it!

The issue appears to be very location-based. Real postcode lottery for insurance on top-end LRs. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Any ideas of who might be the best to approach?

NFU were/are decent but they don't want to know. Was just interested to get a few other names that currently insure the car without a problem!

I just used the usual comparison sites (Confused, Money Supermarket and Compare the Market). The latter came up best for me, so mine's now covered with esure.

They're not the easiest cars to insure at the moment, so the usual variables (location, mainly) can have a big impact.

With so many comparison sites to choose from, the fact that go.compare give a £250 excess guarantee if you choose via them, tips the scales for me.

When I did a trial compare a few weeks ago (as part of another thread on the forum), I found esure were significantly cheaper than anyone else. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Please can some confirm whether the RRS L461 comes with a standard factory fitted immobiliser?

I’ve just learned it doesn’t so will have to ring my insurance and get a new price vs getting one fitted.

I had a P460e on order and asked NFU for a quote last week.

I'm not a current customer with NFU and the quoted me £2700 with no NCD for a RRS P460e Regards

Well that's what they told me when I renewed my RRS a couple of weeks ago. 2006 RRS 2.7 HSE.

Hi,

No it doesn’t.

You have a choice between a Cat 7 or Cat 5S trackers only.

My insurance didn’t ask for one but I’ve had a GHOST-2 fitted, immobilising the gearbox.

I used Trackershop-uk.com - nice neat job and works perfectly - highly recommended.
