United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black
Anyone ever heard of this oil brand before ?

So yeah had the RRS 2010 3.0 V6 booked into local Landrover specialist independant garage. £600 for a 50 point check sevice and all seems well however I am a bit miffed by the fact when I questioned them on what oil they use the reply I had was……

“It is NAPA 5/30 fully synthetic low ash. We do also sometimes use Castrol as specified by Land rover but that is an extra £35 plus VAT on the bill. Usually use Castrol for models from 2017 onwards or if the car is under warranty, or requested by the customer.”

Is this Napa 5/30 any good, never heard of them before ?

If its anything like their parts, I'd be changing it sharpish Shocked

Ironically, you probably would have paid the extra £40 if you'd known there was a choice

Oh dear, really !!!

Wouldn’t mind as much but in their reception area the display cabinet is full of Castrol edge - kind of misleading

Yup I certainly would of paid the extra

Anyone else got any opinions on this oil ?

Low ash means exactly nothing. If it’s C1, it’ll work. If it’s C2 then it’s acceptable. If it’s C3 or any other I’d change it. Just the fact Napa oil is made by the the company who used to make Valvoline oil, I’d change it regardless. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

If you find ACEA C1 oil it’ll meet the Ford WSS-M2C934-B specification since that’s what the ACEA C1 specification was for. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory
