Scotland 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Up grading to off road

Very Happy Hi everyone

I am new to the forum but not to 4x4. Iv had a few but they have always been a second car for doing a little green lane stuff and also just handy to have a bigger car. Iv been playing about with a few ideas and suddenly it dawned on me that I could have a great off road car that looks the bit but also have something gorgeous in side. The RRS.. iv always liked the look of them and iv seen a few examples of them kitted out for off road fun. This is the type of look I’d like to go for.

I have one lined up to view tomorrow. It’s a 2006 and I am looking to do the following

2.5 inch lift
18 inch alloys or steel wheels
Roof rack
I have seen some points being raised about the wheels maybe being an issue that this depends on the brake calliper I think. Anyway, if anyone can give me a steer of what kit for the lift would be good and what wheels may work I’d be very grateful.
If any of you guys have done some of the above and don’t mind showing pics that would also be great so I can get ideas.

Thanks in advance

For a lift, it’s air suspension, so what you need is something like this

It’s an Easylift 2.0.
Gives 2 lower and 3 upper height adjustments over the stock stuff.
Can work off an app if the cars running and door shut.

Handy for hitching trailers.

I know of one which was on a Disco3 (basically the same as RRS) and is for sale just outside Airdrie. Pm me if you want details for the seller who could give you more info Joined the X5 45e club

Love your driving lights. Is there a bracket available on the market to do this or is it a home made job only? There is no replacement for displacement - W O Bentley

This is mine

Easilift Kit - simple to fit and does what you need it to do. Reason you might have wanted a "lift kit" is that normally in off-road mode, as soon as you exceed 30mph, it lowers to standard again. EL over-rides that. You also can go higher with EL than normal settings + there's an App!

LR winch mount, protection and Warn winch - 'nuff said.

Wildbear tree sliders

Decent tyres! I use the standard 19" wheels with 255/55 profile ATs. My 19s fit over Brembo brakes (a 2006 may not have them), which is where the limitation you've heard of comes in as not all 19s do. In terms of 18s, if you have Brembos, then PD1881s or there is an 18" steel TuffAnt.

@Silverstone - I've been looking at http://prospeed-group.co.uk/product/discov...bar-mount/ There's a RAI and non-RAI version. My wallet can't reach to the lamps though Big Cry

Thanks Pufftmw - in fact I'm after brackets to fit a couple of decent sized spotlights to the grill rather than the roof in my case.

Buckster - do the spots in front of the grill cause overheating temp or any temp issues. I know when a friend had Overfinch install a 5.7 HSi kit in his classic they would not warranty the conversion if spotlights blocked the airflow to the grill. There is no replacement for displacement - W O Bentley

For spot brackets, have a look in my gallery on disco 3, there’s drawings made for grill brackets made by someone on there
