SVR - front control arms…

Not read about any issues on here about SVR front suspension knocking…
Mine recently started rattling on rough surfaces despite only 37,000miles .. looked under front offside wheelarch and saw this…

Anyone had theirs replaced so soon? Is it a LR approved warranty item or am I about to have another argument?

Opinions greatly received.. Very Happy

Thanks Phil… the car has led a fairly sheltered life in reality whose main journeys are on the motorway not London suburbs speed bumps.. they were particularly prone to failing on the D3/4 Discovery’s but I am surprised at this!

Are you still fitting standard back on the car or do you recommend something different? Are Meyle HD’s available yet?

We're fitting genuine ATM. Delphi are available, but the jury is still out on whether they last or not

There are no HD/Superpro/Poly versions available yet, AFAIK

Our SVR went in for its 2nd service and it needed front lower wishbone bushes replacing. Asked the dealer and he said it’s quite common due to the poor state of the roads.

The car also needs a new brake booster and associated parts and a replacement carbon bonnet as the lacquer had started peeling on several places on it. Dealer is saying it’s well over £8k worth of warranty work. Took a lot of back and forth over the bonnet as originally they weren’t going to cover it under warranty. To add insult to injury once they finally approved it they said the bonnet and brake booster parts are on back order and they have no idea when they’ll will be ready as they have stopped making these cars now in preparation for the new SVR later this year.

Car is not even 2 years old, done 24k miles.

Are the SVR arms the same as a regular RRS?

I also had peeling around the vents on my carbon bonnet. Fairly typical where the heat will cause the paint to flake adjacent to the vents. At least that’s what happened to mine. Fixed under warranty. 2020 SVR / R.I.P. 2019 SVR / 2016 D4 Landmark / 2005 D3 HSE

My indy said the arms for the SVR differ to the Sport as they are described as "premium" (read more expensive) and are on back order.

I don't know physically what the difference is but I trust my indy to be telling the truth. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue
2005 4.2L Supercharged Java Black - gone but was my first love.

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

Actually, the premium arms are cheaper... Laughing

Last I checked, "premium" arms were £119/139, and the standard arms were £182 (+ VAT)
I did wonder if this would the equivalent of "RRS arms on a D3" upgrade

But that's all meaningless if they aren't available Rolling Eyes

Well, that's a nice surprise! Something cheaper at last Rolling with laughter
But as you say, not much good if they're not available. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

Well car in with dealer for its big service… they rang me up this evening and stated both front bushes are being replaced under warranty…so a bit of a result…
However they are not changing the arms just the bushes… which with the labour involved is more expensive!
