Booked in for new tyres

After taking the plunge to get some new tyres to replace worn tyres (Pirelli Scorpion asimmetrico) which will hopefully cure the wobble that I’ve experienced since fitting the summer wheels back on. I wanted to take the opportunity to go the All season route so that I don’t have to fit winter wheels anymore. I appreciate if it’s heavy snow then they’re compromised, but any light stuff they’ll cope. I’ve taken Kev Watkins advice from a previous post and contacted The Tyre shack in Southampton. Crazy that it’s cheaper for me to go there than stay local, even taking the fuel into account. I saw on the Disco3 site that a new Pirelli AS was released so toyed with that one, but they’re all on back order. So I’ve chosen Continental Allseason contact for my standard wheels (275/40 R20). Booked in for next Saturday. I’ll be putting my 19’ Winters for sale soonest. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

I like his reviews, they seem to be very fair and he explains the rationale behind his rankings which is very useful. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Portugal 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Cairns Blue

Hi Steve,

Funny how we always seem to be doing similar things to our cars around the same time!

Mine is going in for service and annual inspection in 3 weeks and I've arranged to have new tyres fitted along with the Hunter tracking.

After 4 years here and 2 sets of Pirelli Scorpions (which served me well) I'm going to give the GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC 3 a shot. We don't get snow here and we rarely get sub-zero temperatures but seasonal rain can be a challenge on some roads so I'm going to see if summer tyres give me better grip than the all-season.

As I've mentioned before, I have to stay with the 275/40/20s as it would fail the annual inspection here if I put 45s on.

Mine ticked over to 150,000km yesterday, so just over 93k miles for the old girl who will be 17 years old in June and I've had her for over 5 years now. Best car I've ever had! Thumbs Up Barrie.

Hi Barrie, mine is at 95k miles and we’ve had our just over 5 years also. No thoughts of passing it on yet, second best car for me. My Sierra Cosworth was just utopia for me and you never got tired of the sheer acceleration. Anyway project this year is headlights. They are starting to go and I’ve have a kit in the shed, so this year I’m mostly……….

Thanks for that video AIM, not seen him before Thumbs Up 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.
