What car next?

Hello, new to the forum and hoping to seek your collective expertise. Just handed backed my AB SD6 2017 and due to the imminent arrival of the new model, getting slammed for depreciation in the PCP deals on current models, diesel vs hybrid etc I have deferred buying until the new model is out, JLR have some cars to sell and the market normalises.

So having owned an 08 TDV8 HST, 2012 AB SDV6, 2014 AB SDV8 and the 2017 AB 2017 SDV6 I'm in the market to buy a used TDv8 to run round if for a while. Looking at prices and mileage 10k will get something in excess of 100k on an 09 plates, AB TDV8 around 15k - don't mind paying a bit over the top if the usual suspect parts (ARB, ACE pipes, suspension bushes and if I'm luck Turbos have been done) but paying 10K+ for 10+ year old car with 100k miles just seems a bit steep.

I've ruled out SDV6 / TDV6 due to crank issues. SO i think my choice is TDv8 hopefully a facelift HSE or AB 09/10 car, an HST from 09 with likely 90k + miles OR push to 25-30K and get an early AB SDV8 - again will be around 90k miles. What are peoples views on higher mileage TDv8's, prices and would you go for a similar mileage Mk1 TDv8 or Mk2 SDv8 and pay the extra? Been driving cars for 35+ years and first time I've ever not been sure what to buy next.
Great forum and thanks for having me!
Cheers
Richard

A 5.0S supercharged…last swan song and all that… it’s also cheaper to fill up than a diesel car nowadays!

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

I was going to suggest the petrol too. So long as you're not doing silly miles, it might just be a nice fill-in car. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
