Tdv8 multiple warnings on dash

Hi , I've bought a 2009 face-lift tdv8 and had it about a month and loving it,
but this morning i had a few messages on dash when i started it ,
I Had gearbox fault, the parking sensors stopped working and the low range light came on the dash ,i restarted it and it all went back to normal .
So has anyone got any ideas what it could be ?
Thanks.

Check the battery voltage when it's been stood for several hours - preferably 24hr - as this allows surface charge on the plates to dissipate and gives more correct reading. Then check the voltage with the engine running.

A low battery can cause these sorts of transient, odd, error messages.

Worth investing in a smart charger such as a ctek unit if the vehicle is only doing short / occasional journeys. They really don't like low battery voltage.

Be worth checking the earthing points too. There are quite a few and a loose one can throw up transient errors. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Sounds like a good place to start if it's only done short journeys since you bought it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Batteries hate short trips..as do DPFs Whistle
Ctek is the way forwards and if you have towing electrics you can do it via them. 13pin or twin 7 only. Adaptor in forum shop Thumbs Up Visitor from fullfatrr.com

I don't think the TDV8 was ever fitted with DPF in the UK. Could be wrong though. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

hi finally got around to testing the battery and getting reading of 12.03 when off and standing and 14.69 when running,so 12.03 seems low to me ? bearing in mind it had a long 250mile round trip 5days ago do you think it could be due a new battery if so what batteries are people using
cheers .

Maybe get the battery drop tested at a garage for peace of mind. I’ll be changing mine out in 2021 as part of preventative maintenance.... Visitor from fullfatrr.com

Don't bother with the 020 it's about 40mm longer than the original 019 and a tight squeeze to get it fitted correctly without pushing some wiring out of the way I tried it, the extra amps won't make that much difference anyway.

Cheers

Should I be mentioning the Brake Light Switch? Its a quick and cheap job to replace and has been known to create all sort of weird electrical gremlins when it starts playing up. As do cheap brake light bulbs.

What are the actual messages you're getting now? Robin

yes got a switch ordered ,checked the battery after being sat over night and it was down to 11.6 volts so guess it needs a new one, all bulbs are led so not sure if that got anything to do with it ?,but was getting messages of
gearbox fault
no hdc
no stability control
no abs
car not stable cornering msg
suspension not rising (even tho was working fine )
no parking sensors again even tho was working fine
so thinking change battery and switch and see what happens car seems fine starts and drives perfect but getting these messages.
