i've been told to avoid warranties because they're not worth the paper they're written on and I'm also being told that I should have a warranty on the car.... does anyone on here have one and where would be the best place to get one?

Hi Josh, I have one and whilst I run a RR I wont be without one. Mine is through Motoreasy, it's their Plan B warranty, on my 2010 3.0 TDV6 it costs me £800/year, I've just renewed for the 3rd year. I pay £50 excess per covered claim, 0% towards any parts required and the claim limit is the value of the car.

As to whether it's worth the cost, so far they have paid out approx £12k in claims on my car since 2020 and without it I would have been in a financial mess ! Shop around of course but try to get one with the "betterment" clause removed, this means you don't pay a % of the parts required.

I got an extended AA warranty when I bought my 2010 TdV8, it’s recently had to go in for Performance Restriction and Emmission light, if it needed work that bit was covered by the warranty #so I was fairly relaxed waiting for the phone call from the Garage. 2010 HSE TdV8 in Stornoway Grey.
