High level brake light

Hi guys, my high level brake light in the spoiler isn't working, we've only had the vehicle a month and it's not worked as far as I know since we got it. I only noticed it because I followed the wife down the road yesterday. I took the spoiler off to have a look, and plugged in another unit but it still dint work. I tested the plug for power when the brakes are applied but no power........ Any ideas πŸ™

You could pull the headlining down and the rear, in the middle of the tailgate.
Check for power. If it’s there, then broken wire into the tailgate.
If still no power, nick a feed from the towbar plug on the left side.

Is there a connection in the roof lining?

Yes. So if you needed to remove the tailgate, you would disconnect it there.

So where abouts is the connection in the head lining, is it easy to find? Bit nervous about taking the head lining down in case I break something, it's mint and do far no greasy paw prints on it 😳

Wash your hands

Separate the headlining away from the boot seal

Peer in at the middle. You should see a metal bracket
Get 2 long screw drivers.
Push them in, into the metal bracket area
Then push them both down together, so the bracket clips come out of the roof.

You should get a bit of room to see connectors in a recess.

You may need to remove the C pillars
