RRS 2010-11 New Recall from JLR

Just noticed on the car I'm hoping to pick up Wednesday it has a recall just been sent out last week.
Its to do with the rear spoiler apparently. Might be worth popping your reg into the check mot page on DVLA and its at the bottom.

They said paint issue and/or glue as it might fall off.

Not even bought the car yet lol but fingers crossed.
Its a White RRS 10 plate 3.0TDV6 with 85K

Checked mine and yep:

Outstanding recall found
This vehicle has been recalled since at least 22 October 2021.

(Not that I can get it there at the moment unless JLR want to recover it! Laughing )

So that's two of three cars I own subject to an outstanding recall (BMW issued one about two weeks ago for the main battery cable occasionally causing E63/4s to spontaneously combust) .. the only un-recalled car we have is the OHs R56 MINI Laughing 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S

That’s interesting as i glued the spoiler on one corner last year noticed it was loose, Probably not covered now if they see someones glued the corner themselves, wonder if my indy can check and so the work if needed on next service?

My Rear spoiler became a sail that would power an America's cup boat..... Rolling with laughter

Lost the rear camera and undertray.

Managed to get the top cover back and have re-painted it... so I doubt JLR will cover the cost and they don't have the camera's in stock!! Rolling Eyes Big Cry

It came up for me, but the spoiler was replaced before I got it last month. So I’m not going to rush in to get it done. 2010 HSE TdV8 in Stornoway Grey.

Mine flew off a couple of months ago and got ran over by a tractor. Got one from a breakers yard and had it spayed. Total cost was £450.

Just checked mine on the dvla site and no recall logged.
Perhaps it doesn’t affect all models?
Mines an autobiography, late 2010, or maybe just the slower models( diesel).
Yep mines a petrol, difficult to keep below the 79 speed limit on motorways. Rolling with laughter
Extra downforce maybe. Whistle

So does anyone know what the actual fix is? A nice new fancy spoiler for free or do they stick some glue on and send you on your way with an unwanted quote for £5k of other work not needed?

Did wonder if this was just the HSE spoiler or if it included the A/B's, which would easily confuse a L/R dealers if the recalled one's were HSE's which had a A/B kit fitted later in life, and not factory produced A/B's. Laughing

Cheers

Thanks to the OP for the heads up.

Yup, mine is subject to the recall as well. Not sure I will bother other than to get the recall record updated for my car. Last year I traced a rattle on closing the boot to the top painted cover on the spoiler being loose. I took the spoiler off and re-glued the upper to the lower so seems I've done the dealers work already.

Maybe they use better glue than me though, or maybe not! Laughing 2010 TDV8 - current - my first RRS, loving it so far......
2005 Cayenne S - handling defied physics and what a sound, so sod the mpg!
1995 Disco TDI- surprisingly reliable, shame about the peeling dash & other trim
Lots of other non 4X4's in between times.........
