Passenger seat belt warning light - should it work?

Don't know if this is expected, but if someone is on the passenger seat there
is no seat belt warning light on the dash.
It works for the drivers seat, just not the passenger.

Is this really normal?

On my 2005 there is a light for the passenger seatbelt which activates when there is someone on the seat (with an audible alert) and goes out once the seatbelt is fastened.

I think either yours is not working at all, or maybe it can be changed in settings? Barrie.

It is possible to set the system to not illuminate the light when a load is applied to the passenger seat. Sounds like yours has been so set. Or the occupancy sensor is broken / disconnected under the seat. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Any idea on how I unset it? - IID tool?

Or indeed where the sensor is?

The actual sensor is stuck to the foam seat cushion, to get to it you would need to remove the leather seat cover the same as if you were going to renew the heated seat element as it's actually stuck under that. If you look under the rear of the seat from the rear passengers footwell you will see the wiring for it clipped to the seat base, might be worth checking the electrical connections there.

Hi, I did mislead you a little bit there it was a little while ago I changed one, meant to say check the wiring for damage where it comes through the metal seat pan, the actual connector is at the front of the seat.

Cheers
