Just renewed my insurance today and thought Id post my experience.
As per usual I used the meercat and got a deal £20 or so less than my current provider. Was going through the payment motions online when I thought I'd just have a closer read of the policy data. Was somewhat surprised to note that despite taking out comprehensive cover, I would not be covered for theft unless I had a tracker fitted with an up to date subscription. A tracker was not original equipment as the insurance company well know but they were quite happy to take on my business without making this crystal clear. Was not impressed as I could have easily missed this point as it was somewhat behind the front page and I could have been running around totally vulnerable to thieving scum. Seems like they don't know the definition of the word comprehensive. Its a well known brand advertised by a dog that says 'Yus'.

So the moral is, no matter how tedious, check your policy details carefully!

PS cost me a quid more to go to the next insurer who verified by phone that they would not supply a quote on that basis without obtaining confirmation from the insured regarding a tracker being required. RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014
