Faulty EPB is it the weather or coincidence

Hi all,

I’m currently in Switzerland and it’s been down to -18. My EPB has thrown its toys out of the pram and I’m getting the amber
Warning re park brake applied and not functioning correctly but won’t calibrate.

I have tried the IID tool but no luck…

Will I just need to wait for warmer climes to sort it self? 2015 4.4 Autobiography

Suggest you dont use it at all. Until repaired / replaced. I’ve changed 3 in the last 3 years.

When it jams on you’ll be stuck.

But it can be manually released; by removing the cover etc etc. 2022 P440e AB

The OP has a L494, I think the manual release is only for L320 variants, the release procedure for the L494 is remove the parking brake actuators from the caliper and manually wind the pistons back if I recall correctly.

I stand to be corrected however as I have never had this issue!

regards

Mike

By manual release; I mean removing the cover of the epb.

On the wheel hub.

And you’re right; there is no manual release on a L494.

Sorry if I created confusion.
