Disclock size

Can anyone advise what size disclock fits the L494? Seems it comes in a few different sizes. Thanks! MY2022 HSE Silver D300 in Firenze Red with black contrast roof

Thanks - I considered stoplock but its quite easy to cut a steering wheel to get it off whilst disclock covers the whole thing making it more hassle and noisy hence hopefully a better deterrent. MY2022 HSE Silver D300 in Firenze Red with black contrast roof

Yup...medium..

Small enough so that it cannot be taken off and big enough so that it sits loosely around the steering and moves around freely without moving the steering wheel.

Too tight and it grip the steering wheel and allow it to be turned .. upto a point.

As an aside, I found the disclock caused pressure indentations on the leather, so I have a towel (which has approx 3 inches turned over and sewn to create a pocket over the top of the wheel) which I put on between the lock and the leather. MY17 RRS 4.4d V8 Autobiography - Aintree Green (also referred to on Topix as British Racing Green)

In a test, Auto Express found that the Stoplock Pro was as hard to break as the Disklok (more on that below), and reported that cracking it open isn’t exactly a quiet affair, either.

I went with the small size (there is some adjustment, with the largest setting there is enough looseness ) and bought one of these to protect the steering wheel ....

Are you sure you need one of these monstrosities? I mean play it out: you hope it’s a deterrent, but determined thieves know how to remove them in seconds. You won’t get an insurance discount. In the unlikely event it gets nicked, you claim. Every time you drive it you have to manhandle this metal party killer. The one time you do not reapply it would be the one time it gets nicked. (Sod’s law theory).

I just don’t get why you would bother. If you’re going to do anything then a). Always double lock it, and b). Buy a faraday bag. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

I can see where you are coming from - the area I live in, apart from catalytic converter theft, car related theft is almost solely cars being stolen from driveways at night using keyless entry so I would only really use the disc lock when parked up overnight. Seems to be thieves try their luck on across several villages looking for an easy target. None of the cars stolen appear to have had any sort of mechanical device nor used faraday bags to stop keyless entry so I am thinking a combination of visual deterrent plus other security features should work. Alternatively I am thinking of getting a couple of retractable bollards fitted to my driveway. MY2022 HSE Silver D300 in Firenze Red with black contrast roof

Agree a vidual deterrent coupled with other measures..I have a ghost immobiliser and have disabled keyless entry.

Suppose also helps that my strertvdoes not have off street parking so car is often parked a few houses away from my house.
