Wheel sizes and changing to smaller wheel larger tyre wall?

Afternoon folks
I’m new to site and looking for some assistance around possibly changing the wheel size on my 2017 RRS autobiography.
Present tyre size is 275/40 R22. I would like to know if reducing wheel size and increasing the tyre wall size will make the ride a little less hard and if so what’s the best solution. I Have tried to have this conversation with several dealers but bot getting anything back other than blank looks to be honest.
Roads up here in Scotland may be surrounded in beauty but their surfaces are anything but.

Cheers
Chris

21 inch rims with appropriate tyre size will be a lot smoother over our rough pot holed roads .
What wheels and tyre size are you currently running ? Thumbs Up

Certainly coming down a size alloy with a taller side walled tyre will improve the ride quality no end. I’m sure you’ll get more replies after the bank holiday and others with a L494 with what they’re running. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

If your on 275/40r22 now, coming down to 275/45r21 will be a big improvement on the ride.If you are thinking of going off road then you could go down to 255/55r20. Andy.

Wheel and tyres sizes

Thanks for the reply’s folks, sorry for delayed response but out the UK at the moment so intermittent access.
Present tyres are 275/40R22
Need to look at prices for the 21’s and 20’s as the pot holed roads are a nightmare.
Any ideas on reliable sellers?
Cheers
Chris
