Oil level

Hi I’ve been keeping an eye on my oil level lately after reading all the camshaft snapping issues due to low oil in engine (possibly). I check when engine cold on a flat surface and oil level is on max. Land Rover recommend checking oil level when engine is warm and after 10mins of been parked up. Again when I check it the oil level is on max which is good. Should the oil level be lower when the engine is warm or same as when cold? I don’t know why LR tell you to check when engine is warm. I always assumed you check oil levels when engine is cold.

Now then John. Thumbs Up

You will get a slight volumetric increase in oil when the engine is up to running temperature and the level should not be over maximum at this point.

All ok , with mine then as it just stays on max when cold or warm, no overfill sign on screen.👍
