Travelling back from Grimsby to Burton on Trent today I had arrived at Derby with just 10 miles to go and the engine cut out at 70mph - Dashboard went banzai with error messages and every coloured light you can imagine, clock reset to 12pm and luckily it was downhill and I was able to coast to a safe place to pull in. The hazards and all the dashboard messages and flashing lights were working so battery was OK. In fact it is a new battery and I checked tightness of terminals etc last week as my own 1000 mile checks Switched off ignition and back on - engine started straight away but with “Tailgate Open” and no “Dynamic Control” messages on the dash. Drove cautiously home at 50mph as not sure if it would happen again. Pulled up on the drive switched off - left for 5 mins and switched back on again and all is well the old girl. Usual starter is "needs the error codes reading ".

Could be as simple as an earth that has worked loose and is therefore become temperamental. Needs some investigation. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
