Hello all,

Can anyone advise a good shipping/forwarding agent that I can use to get an item from the US to the UK.
The seller of the item I need only delivers within the US and will not ship to me in the UK. So I am thinking of using a company that will allow me to have the item delivered to them and they will then ship it here to the UK.

There appears to be quite a few to choose from and so am asking if anyone has used such a service before.

Shouldn't be a mayor issue there just may be extra taxes plus the shipping cost to pay for, no one in the UK doing the bits you are looking for?

Not going to be cheap for shipping. I was after a set of specific Carbon Ceramic front brake pads which are made in the USA for my S63 Mercedes. Pads were to be about 60 dollars & shipping was 260 dollars. Managed to get them from Amazon Global, including shipping around £60. Waited about a month, but was not in a hurry so it did not matter.

I have now checked out a few shipping companies and one of the best appears to be Ship7. Their shipping options appear to have links to carriers that charge anything form $13 to $65.

On top of that I expect that there will be import taxes at some level.

Hi what you need to do is get a friend on face book etc who lives in the states, get them to buy it it then ship it over to you. That would be the way i would try to go.

Or see if some of our American friends on this site are willing to buy and send maybe a lot cheaper?

Just to update this post.

After a few days of searching I decided to try a company called 'ship7'. I bought the item in the US, had it delivered to 'my address' at the Ship7 location, they then checked the content and advised me that it had been received. I then arranged for it to be delivered to the UK. It arrived here faster than it did travelling with the US.

Costs were very reasonable (cheaper than buying in the UK)and on first impressions, would recommend whole heartedly "Every Day is a School Day"
