Hmm then maybe yes you need to ask to have access to the full list as I dont think this is doen by default for obvious reasons as there are some things about the safety feature in there that people could try playing with.

Pat is really good and helpful so its worth and ask as id be interest to know if its still possible If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!

I asked Pat to give me all CCF, and he did, with the following warning:

Quote:
To our knowledge, you cannot install a 2017+ instrument cluster. Completely different electrical platform.

I have granted you access to the complete CCF:
-Connect the tool on a computer, do not start the updater software.
-Using the mobile App, connect on the tool ''In Bootloader''
-Wait until file loading is completed

Keep in mind that 80 % of the CCF is not taken into account by the car. Also, do not change safety or critical settings which could cause issues.

will go try it out now now and report back. --

ok, so I had a full list, but only one skin in the Instrument.

I didn't want to mess with it, so left it as is (Undefined). --

did you see any of the other settings like fuel guage tyep might be worht just changing that to the super charged version or one of the others to see if it changes, could always revert back to the previuos setting. normally if it wont work then it errors and rolls back.

I wonder if I can roll back the firmware on my GAP and see if I can find might ask PAT If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!

Ah, yes, I did make one change - the fuel tank type was 'Petrol', and I changed it to 'Supercharged'.

I'll see what effect it has.

I also saw that you can define the Tyre size, but the standard size for the RRS was not present (255/55R20). --

I made my changes before I did the update on the FW so maybe rolling back to an older version would bring back the menu setting I used.

Ive go 21's so never made any changes to that my guess is that setting might mean you could mess about with different tyre sizes on different rims to compensate for the speed difference maybe? If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!

Ok, so I could not see any difference in the display after the CCF change.

Maybe it's got to do with the size of the tank? --

yeah maybe it strange that its changed as that is the only reason why I mentioned the ability to! I reckon maybe the later version of the Gap firmware might have removed that feature perhaps or its bee split out into another function somewhere.

Ill have a buthcers next tiem I plug in and see what I can work out. It was defo in their thoguh skin designs I went from diesel to SC to another one not sure but it looked similar and then went back to the SC one it looks pretty good with the back ground and technically is fine as my car is Supercharged! Wink

I think maybe some of the other skins might have been from the RR and maybe the disco that had TFT dash If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!

Well, I finally found out what changing the fuel tank from Petrol to Supercharged did: it wouldn't show a full tank when I filled up twice on a long drive today, and the calculated Range was thus very inaccurate.

Filled up this am, and the needle refused to go to Full, the petrol attendant squeezed some more petrol in and we could see it about to spill.

When we got to our destination now, I reflashed the Petrol ccf, and immediately the fuel gauge needle jumped from just under 50% to about 60%-ish, which worked out exactly according to the distance we drove. The Range also jumped up to the correct figures.

Just to make sure, I then looked at the Fuel Tank Size, which was undefined, and I then set it to 108L.

Will monitor as we drive the 900km from Colesberg to Johannesburg tomorrow à d report back. --

Interesting well I guess we can wirte than one off as not needed then!

Ive had look and cant find the old setting that I used to change the skin either so even if i wanted to change mine back I wouldnt know how to now

I might ping a messae over to Pat and ask him a few questions of see if I can get an older FW version and role my GAP back as this might be the only way to do it. If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!
