Squeaky suspension

Hi all,

After standing for most of 2020, I did a 400km round trip drive to go get my new ID. Since I was alone in the car, I was pushing it more than I would when my wife is in the car - average of 130kmh on straights, and 120kmh on the mountain passes where 80kmh is indicated Whistle

When I got close to home, I noticed that the suspension is now squeaking quite a bit when going over the dozen or so speed bumps in my neighbourhood.

Does this mean it's time for new bushes? or something else?

thanks --

Squeaky bushes doesn't necessarily mean that replacement is needed Naks. I'd just give them a good spray with some silicone spray. Kev

I agree with Kev, I had a LOT of squeaking when the car had warmed up after a decent run and after having it checked and given a clean bill of health on the play in the bushes my local indie gave them a good dose of silicone spray and all is silent again now! So I would give it a try before spending out on new bushes especially as you may well be in warmer climates! Lee

Agreed - you'll be changing bushes all the time. Did my front ARB bushes in the summer, did help a bit but not for long. Silicone spray every month or so when i do a deep clean seems to keep the squeaks away. L494 3.0L SDV6 Autobiography in Chile Red (Current)
