Strangeness

So that time of the year again - MOT, so off I went to my favourite place. Took the dog for a walk, came back and lo and behold - it'd failed Big Cry

So, what's wrong?

Well... your n/s/r brake disc is too small...

WTF? Shocked

Low and behold, its about 15/20mm diameter shy of what it should be!

How on earth did that happen? I've no idea and its been on the car for at least a couple of years as far as I can recall, so its missed 1 MOT for sure, maybe 2

However, it fits where its meant to, so is it a Disco one? Correct one on order, so it'll be back with a new MOT soon.

I think the disc may be from a earlier 2.7 as I believe they had 325mm disc later had 350mm Vin no. dependent, but stand to be corrected.

Cheers

Wow Shocked thought the pad contact area would be obviously wrong. Steve

It is! The pad overlaps disc by the missing amount!

Still brakes fine but obviously wasn't right.

Begs the question what d***head did the job in the first place as must have been quite obvious if the pads overlapped by 10-15mm, especially if only on one side of car. Certainly wouldn't want them anywhere near my car.
