Rear passenger door lock

Hopefully someone can help. 2011 RRS
The rear passenger door won’t open unless it’s the first door opened off the central locking. If I open any door first from locked it won’t open, also if it’s the first door I open off the central locking and close it, it won’t open again unless I central lock the car and unlock again. Not the biggest issue, but massively annoying.

Very similar issue I had with my O/S/R, strong possibility you will need a new Latch/Lock Assy. not a uncommon issue.

Cheers

Had this with my 2012 L320 sport. The door locks seem to lose the strength to unlock the door as they get older and it seems to be the door you use least. You will need to replace the lock mechanism in the door.. 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

As Col says it’s very likely to be your door mechanism as I had a very similar issue with the lock behaving very randomly, so I am in the process of changing my actuator, just waiting for the correct part to arrive now after buying a unit on fleabay to find it wasn’t the correct one! So best advice I can give you is to make sure you know what part you want before you spend an hour or so stripping the door to remove the old unit Thumbs Up Lee

Mine was not locking occasionally, replaced it with a S/H unit which now sometimes doesn’t unlock unless I press unlock button a second time Sad

As others have said, likely new mechanism needed. Due to the hassle of replacing I wouldn’t bother with a cheap copy, get the LR one. I’ve had to replace 3 of mine on my 2005......and don’t leave it, it’ll get to a stage where it becomes almost impossible to open, and you’ll have great difficulty opening the door to replace the actuator, which may result in lots of swearing and a dremmel!!🤦‍♂️
