Hi All,

This is becoming a repeat occurence during wet weather - when car is locked and on driveway, hear beeps / chirps (same sound when you deadlock) - any thoughts on cause ?

Do you have a gesture tailgate? A friend had the same issue.Below is his reply after a visit from LR ASSIST.

Yhea think so he also sorted out the beeping problem it needed a update ....... so the technician said has it got gesture tail gate ....... and what happens is in heavy rain it can bounce up under the gesture points and make the beeping noice etc . Also the tailgate had been spewing water out of each end after rain so he said there’s a recall for the tailgate rubbers to be changed so when it’s in for service they are going to sort the other things out.

Awesome - thanks - this makes entire sense - yes, have the gesture tailgate...cleaner the area around the sensors - chirping seems to have stopped.

A quick update on this - LR Assist called, arrived within 90 mins, spent about 2 hours running some software updates. Acknowledged this as a known fault - hope extract from "call out" note helps others who exprience this issue:

CUSTOMER ADVISED BLEEP FROM CAR WHEN RAINING FROM GESTURE TAILGATE RUN CCF AND UP DATE TO BODY CONTROL MODULE AND TESTED ALL OK ADVISED CUSTOMER TO MONITOR IF HAPPENS AGAIN BOOK INTO DEALER

Heavy rain today and no chirrping...fingers crossed its fixed.
