It’s in the back of the display.

Forget upgrading it. Just use Waze on your phone

If I recall correctly, the update they will charge you for only goes up to 2013 or so and you may want to consider if it's worth it.
I may be wrong of course but it's worth asking before you hand over your cash.

I'd be surprised if the dealer knows how.

They are quite specific on that year, done over firewire

I think oldandconfused may mean the latest updated maps for MY10/11 cars is 2013 as they stopped doing updates for that system then. So a lot of money for 7 year old maps.

Cheers

Wait .. The Cars with Satnav on a HDD are the later L320's ? i thought it was the 2011-2013

The HDD in mine isnt located at the rear of the screen its located in the DVD unit under the screen.

And they still do the updates for it.. Its uses a USB stick and its around £70 on ebay.

EDIT - Oh maybe the older cars had HDD's in them as well.. I assume they still used DVD's.

MY10/11 cars HDD in the Screen Unit dealer update only, when they updated the Infotainment Interface for the MY12 cars they moved it to the IAM unit (DVD/CD) player and is updated via. USB.

Cheers
