Decided to change over to 275 45 20s having just bought my first rrs 2012 read lots on here would recommend over the 40 profile for a much more comfortable ride on our crap urban roads,

What type of tyre are you looking for, Bob? All terrain, road only, summer, winter, all season? Kev

As Kev says above let us know your intended use. Don’t feel ashamed into saying road only, a lot of us do tarmac only Thumbs Up 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

I seem to recall reading on here that a member posted that prior to changing from standard, he'd asked his insurance company and they said it was a notifiable modification. May be worth asking yours before you commit, some may charge more and some may refuse cover.
I have to say that the idea of a higher sidewall appeals to me as well, but I tend to keep my cars as standard, I pay enough to insurance companies as it is.

I had exactly this issue when fitting my General Grabber AT3s last year. Contacted my insurers and they needed to place a note on my policy about the swap from 40's to 45's. No charge. However, it is a notifiable modification and was going to be a pain in the rear at renewal having to tell each company who quoted, etc. In the end stuck with the 40's. There is no replacement for displacement - W O Bentley

I did the same when I went for 255/55/20. They made a note on the policy. No charge. Kev

Got my tires on ahead of schedule - loving them! Ride is significantly smoother over bumps with the slight upgrade in sizing and these the Zeon’s have a great feel. It’s only been a few hours but loving the new boots! Sport is very dirty at the moment, I’ll get some poseur shots sorted later.... 2011 Range Rover Sport GT Limited Edition/Santorini Black 5.0 Liter
