RRS Order

In June, I placed an order for a P400e with my local dealer. I was informed that I would be provided with a build date within a week but should expect delivery in September. Four weeks later, I have no build date, excuse being that there has been a delay in production due to the MY21 transition and some changes to the model range. I'm not convinced this is correct and am struggling to get any meaningful information from the dealer.

Has anyone received a build/delivery date on a recent order?

I don't' think there is much change on MY21 builds ???

any one else confirm, my dealer had no info of any upcoming change. Only some special edition like HST silver edition and SVR Carbon edition. 2020 Range Rover Sport SVR 5.0L V8 Supercharged

Seems LR is replacing the V6 and V8 diesels with new 3L straight-six ingenious engines, featuring 48V mild-hybrid tech. The RRS will also be offered with a higher spec Silver Edition and Dynamic Black. All options available to order LR's website now. Other than this, no major changes until the new model is released in 2022 I guess.

Issue for me is that my dealer cannot update me on the order or a build date for the P400e and I was wondering if anyone else with an order placed in the last month is experiencing the same issue. If not, may be I need to switch dealer...

I ordered a P400e in early February. I've now been given an estimated delivery date in early September. So, if you see yours before the middle of October, I'd be surprised.

So, I've reached the conclusion that my local dealer is utterly useless. I've previously purchased 2 RRS's and a Velar from them without a hitch. Communication on the P400e has been a disaster, largely due to staff changes.

Having now spoken to 3 other LR dealers, all advised that delivery is unlikely before December due to supply chain issues. If you're being told September, brilliant. However, it might be prudent to independently validate what you're being told.

Being the impatient person that I am, I took advantage of a well spec'd HST that was ordered by one of the dealers I spoke to. Delivery next week Very Happy

Good for you! That sounds like a lovely car.

I don't know how much the dealers or JLR really know about delivery dates, what with parts supply problems. In my case, it was the lease company who gave me a predicted delivery date, but how accurate it will be is anyone's guess. But since I've not covered more than 20 miles in 4 months now, I'm in no rush for delivery.

Zilver,

I've had my p400 for almost a year, the motor is an absolute peach, super smooth and powerful.

A little update. Car will be delivered to the dealer on Mon/Tue. It's a P400 HST in Carpathian. Good standard trim level with a few optional items (HUD, sunroof,
a number of driver aids and 22" gloss black wheels. I would have preferred 21" as I do a lot of driving in London but aesthetically, the larger wheels look better.

Tim - thanks for the feedback. What size wheels are you running and what's your ride experience with these?

Zilver,

My car is on 20" rims with Pirelli all seasons tyres. The ride is really good on these and handling is more than adequate. I will admit that I'm biased against large diameter wheels and ultra low profile tyres particularly on an SUV which in my opinion are all to easy to kerb and can spoil the ride.
I'm sure you will be really pleased with car.

Well, the HST arrived yesterday. Impressive engine and the 22” wheels still offer a composed and comfortable ride, even on South London streets!

Here you go. A P400 HST in Carpathian grey with black contrast roof and ebony interior. Options: Sliding roof, HUD, Drive Pro pack and 22" gloss black wheels.

Two things to sort out this week. A Ghost 2 install and may be some wheel spacers. The rears sit far too deep in the arches.
